Description
Background:

Octreotide is a potent inhibitor of growth hormone, glucagon, and insulin. It also suppresses the luteinizing hormone response to gonadotropin-releasing hormone, decreases splanchnic blood flow, and inhibits the release of serotonin, gastrin, vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP), secretin, motilin, pancreatic polypeptide, and thyroid stimulating hormone. Octreotide is a good alternative in palliative treatment of symptomatic liver metastases in patients with end-stage malignant disease.1 Octreotide can can also inhibit human colonic cancer cell growth through inhibition of Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway.2

Storage and Stability
