Background:
Chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 22, also known as CCL22 is secreted by dendritic cells and macrophages, and elicits its effects on its target cells by interacting with cell surface chemokine receptors such as CCR4.1 CCL22 selectively chemoattract Th2 cytokine-producing cells2,3 and acts as an important activator of eosinophils once thes cells have migrated into tissue.4

This recombinant protein was lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in 35% acetonitrile (CH3CN) and 0.1% trifluoroacetic acid (TFA).

Storage and Stability
This lyophilized protein is stable for six to twelve months when stored desiccated at -20°C to -70°C. After aseptic reconstitution, this protein may be stored at 2°C to 8°C for one month or at -20°C to -70°C in a manual defrost freezer. Avoid Repeated Freeze Thaw Cycles. Biological Activity
The biological activity of Mouse MDC was determined by its ability to chemoattract human T-lymphoblastoid CEM-NKR cells (Howell, D.N. et al., 1985, J. Immunol. 134: 971 - 976) and to chemoattract mouse BaF/3 cells transfected with hCCR4. The expected ED50 for these effects are typically 5 - 20 ng/ml and 0.5 - 3 ng/ml, respectively.
Each investigator should determine their own optimal working dilution for specific applications.
