Specificity:
Rabbit Anti-Human IL-1 Receptor Associated Kinase 2 (IRAK2) recognizes an epitope near the C-terminus of Human IRAK-2. This polyclonal antibody was purified using affinity chromatography.
Background:
The pro-inflammatory cytokine IL-1 induces cellular response through two subunits of its receptor, IL-1 receptor I (IL-1RI) and IL-1 receptor accessory protein (IL-1RAcP). IL-1 receptor-associated kinase (IRAK) mediates activation of NF-κB, which is a pivotal transcription factor mediating inflammatory and immune response. A novel member in the IRAK/Pelle family was recently identified and designated IRAK2 . Both IRAK and IRAK2 recruit to the subunits of the IL-1R complex after IL-1 binding and lead to NF-κB activation. IRAKs also associate with Toll like receptor (TLR) and the dominant negative mutants of IRAKs inhibit LPS-induced NF-κB activation. Members in IRAK/Pelle family play a central role in IL-1R and TLR mediated inflammatory response. IRAK2 is expressed in a variety of human tissues.

Formulation
This polyclonal antibody is formulated in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) pH 7.4 containing 0.02% sodium azide as a preservative.
Storage and Stability
This polyclonal antibody is stable for at least one week when stored at 2-8°C. For long term storage, aliquot in working volumes without diluting and store at –20°C in a manual defrost freezer. Avoid Repeated Freeze Thaw Cycles.

Western Blotting: This antibody can be used to detect Human IRAK2 by Western blot analysis at a concentration of 1.0-2.0 µg/ml when used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, such as Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H&L)-Horseradish Peroxidase (Leinco Prod. No.: R1190), under either reducing or non-reducing conditions. The positive controls for Western blotting are HeLa Whole Cell Lysate (Leinco Prod. No.: H1402) and K562 Whole Cell Lysate (Leinco Prod. No.: K128).
