Specificity:
Rabbit Anti-Human ILPIP recognizes mouse, rat and human ILPIP. This polyclonal antibody was purified using affinity chromatography.
Background:
ILPIP (ILP-interacting protein) has recently been shown to interact with XIAP, a member of the IAP (Inhibitor of Apoptosis) protein family.1 Together, these two proteins synergistically activate the TAK1/JNK1 signal transduction pathway, which acts to protect against the interleukin-1 converting enzyme of Fas-induced apotosis.1,2 This protein was independently isolated and characterized as polyploidy-associated protein kinase (PAPK), a member of the Ste20/germinal center kinase family that modulates cytoskeletal organization and cell survival,3 suggesting that its protective role may be a function of its kinase activity. Although two mRNA sequences have been isolated, only the shorter isoform has been observed.

Formulation
This polyclonal antibody is formulated in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) pH 7.4 containing 0.02% sodium azide as a preservative.
Storage and Stability
This polyclonal antibody is stable for at least one week when stored at 2-8°C. For long term storage, aliquot in working volumes without diluting and store at –20°C in a manual defrost freezer. Avoid Repeated Freeze Thaw Cycles.

Western Blotting: This antibody can be used to detect mouse, rat and human ILPIP by Western blot analysis at a concentration of 1.0-2.0 µg/ml when used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, such as Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H&L)-Horseradish Peroxidase (Leinco Prod. No.: R1190), under either reducing or non-reducing conditions. The positive control for Western blotting is Human Brain Tissue Lysate (Leinco Prod. No.: H1407).
