Specificity:
Rabbit Anti-Human Interferon Regulatory Factor 7 (IRF7) recognizes an epitope near the center of Human IRF7. This polyclonal antibody was purified using affinity chromatography.
Background:
Interferons (IFNs) are involved in a multitude of immune interactions during viral infections and play a major role in both the induction and regulation of innate and adaptive antiviral mechanisms (1 for review). During infection, hostvirus interactions signal downstream molecules such as transcription factors such as IFN regulatory factor-3 (IRF3)which can act to st imulate transcription of IFN-α/β genes. IRF7 has been shown to play a role in the transcriptional activation of virus-inducible cellular genes, including interferon beta chain genes (2). IRF7 play a major role in the innate immune pathway, interacting with the Toll-like receptor (TLR) adaptor proteins MyD88 and Tirp/TRAM and functioning as an intermediate TLR4 and TLR9 signaling (3,4). There are at least four differentially spliced isoforms of IRF7, although their function has not been clearly established.

Formulation
This polyclonal antibody is formulated in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) pH 7.4 containing 0.02% sodium azide as a preservative.
Storage and Stability
This polyclonal antibody is stable for at least one week when stored at 2-8°C. For long term storage, aliquot in working volumes without diluting and store at –20°C in a manual defrost freezer. Avoid Repeated Freeze Thaw Cycles.

IHC (NBF/Par.), WB
Western Blotting: This antibody can be used to detect Human IRF7 by Western blot analysis at a concentration of 1 µg/ml when used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, such as Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H&L)-Horseradish Peroxidase (Leinco Prod. No.: R1190), under either reducing or non-reducing conditions. The positive control for Western blotting is 293 Whole Cell Lysate (Leinco Prod. No.: A182).
