Specificity:
Rabbit Anti-Human NALP1 recognizes Human NALP1. This polyclonal antibody was purified using affinity chromatography.
Background:
NALP1 belongs to a family of cytoplasmic proteins that have been implicated in cell responses to apoptotic and inflammatory stimuli.1 It contains a caspase recruitment domain (CARD) in addition to a NACHT domain and leucine rich repeat (LRR). This protein interacts strongly with caspase 2 and weakly with caspase 9, as well as with Apaf-1.2 Transient overexpression of this gene in cultured cells was sufficient to induce apoptosis.3 NALP1 mRNA and protein expression levels in myeloid leukemia cells are increased following CREB (cAMP-response element binding protein) activation, suggesting that NALP1 may contribute to modulate the response of these cells to pro-inflammatory stimuli.4 Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been found for NALP1.3

Formulation
This polyclonal antibody is formulated in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) pH 7.4 containing 0.02% sodium azide as a preservative.
Storage and Stability
This polyclonal antibody is stable for at least one week when stored at 2-8°C. For long term storage, aliquot in working volumes without diluting and store at –20°C in a manual defrost freezer. Avoid Repeated Freeze Thaw Cycles.

Western Blotting: This antibody can be used to detect Human NALP1 by Western blot analysis at a concentration of 1.0-2.0 µg/ml when used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, such as Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H&L)-Horseradish Peroxidase (Leinco Prod. No.: R1190), under either reducing or non-reducing conditions. The positive control for Western blotting is U937 Whole Cell Lysate (Leinco Prod. No.: U123).
