Description
Specificity:
Rabbit Anti-Human T Cell Cytokine Receptor (TCCR) recognizes an epitope near the N-terminus of Human TCCR. This polyclonal antibody was purified using affinity chromatography.

Background:
Upon antigen challenge, T-helper cells differentiate into two functional distinct subsets, Th1 and Th2. Th1 cells produce IL-2, IFN-γ and lymphotoxin-β that augment cell mediated immune response while Th2 cells secrete IL-4, IL-5, and IL-10 that enhance humoral immunity. The function of T-helper cells is regulated by cytokines. A novel cytokine receptor was recently identified and cloned.1,2 It is a new member in the type I cytokine receptor family and designated TCCR for T-cell cytokine receptor and WSX-1.1,2 TCCR deficient mice had impaired Th1 responses to protein antigen challenge, including decreased levels of IFN-γ and Th1-dependent antibody IgG2a. TCCR is predominately expressed in thymus, spleen, lymph nodes and peripheral blood leukocytes.

Formulation
This polyclonal antibody is formulated in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) pH 7.4 containing 0.02% sodium azide as a preservative.
Storage and Stability
This polyclonal antibody is stable for at least one week when stored at 2-8°C. For long term storage, aliquot in working volumes without diluting and store at –20°C in a manual defrost freezer. Avoid Repeated Freeze Thaw Cycles.

Western Blotting: This antibody can be used to detect Human TCCR by Western blot analysis at a concentration of 0.5-1.0 µg/ml when used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, such as Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H&L)-Horseradish Peroxidase (Leinco Prod. No.: R1190), under either reducing or non-reducing conditions. The positive control for Western blotting is Human Spleen Tissue Lysate (Leinco Prod. No.: H1410).
