Specificity:
Rabbit Anti-Human CCR8 recognizes an epitope in the extracellular loop of Human CCR8. This polyclonal antibody was purified using affinity chromatography.
Background:
CCR8 is one of the chemokine receptors that are required as coreceptors for HIV infection. The genes encoding human and mouse CCR8 were cloned and designated TER1, CKR-L1, and ChemR1. The encoded seven transmembrane protein was identified as the receptor for human CC chemokine I-309 and renamed CCR8. Recently, CCR8 was found to serve as a coreceptor for diverse T-cell tropic, dual-tropic and macrophage-tropic HIV-1 strains. CCR8 mediates CC chemokine I-309 induced monocyte chemoattraction and HIV-1 envelope fusion and virus infection, which can be prevented by the CCR8 ligand I-309. CCR8 is expressed in spleen, thymus and T lymphoblastic cell lines.

Formulation
This polyclonal antibody is formulated in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) pH 7.4 containing 0.02% sodium azide as a preservative.
Storage and Stability
This polyclonal antibody is stable for at least one week when stored at 2-8°C. For long term storage, aliquot in working volumes without diluting and store at –20°C in a manual defrost freezer. Avoid Repeated Freeze Thaw Cycles.
Reported Applications

Western Blotting: This antibody can be used to detect Human CCR8 by Western blot analysis at a dilution of 1:500-1:1000 when used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, such as Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H&L)-Horseradish Peroxidase (Leinco Prod. No.: R1190), under either reducing or non-reducing conditions. The positive control for Western blotting is Human Spleen Tissue Lysate (Leinco Prod. No.: H1410).
