Description
Specificity:
Rabbit Anti-Human FLIP-γ/δ recognizes an epitope near the C-terminus Human FLIP-γ/δ . This polyclonal antibody was purified using affinity chromatography.

Background:
Apoptosis is related to many diseases and induced by a family of cell death receptors and their ligands. Cell death signals are transduced by death domain (DD)-containing adapter molecules and members of the ICE/CED-3 protease family. Caspases-8 (FLICE) and -10 (FLICE2) are two pivotal members in the ICE/CED-3 protease family. FLICE-inhibitory proteins were identified in virus and human and designated v-FLIPs and c-FLIPs, respectively.1,2 The human FLIPs were also cloned by several labs independently and termed Casper , I-FLICE, FLAME-1, CASH, CLARP and usurpin.3-4 FLIP contains two death effector domains (DEDs) and a caspase-like domain. FLIP interacts with adapter protein FADD and caspase-8 and 10, and potently inhibits apoptosis induced by all known death receptors CD95, DR3, TRAIL-R and TNFR1. Four splice variants of c-FLIPs have been identified and termed FLIPα, β, γ, and δ, respectively.

Formulation
This polyclonal antibody is formulated in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) pH 7.4 containing 0.02% sodium azide as a preservative.
Storage and Stability
This polyclonal antibody is stable for at least one week when stored at 2-8°C. For long term storage, aliquot in working volumes without diluting and store at –20°C in a manual defrost freezer. Avoid Repeated Freeze Thaw Cycles.

Western Blotting: This antibody can be used to detect Human FLIP-γ/δ by Western blot analysis at a concentration of 1:1,000 µg/ml when used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, such as Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H&L)-Horseradish Peroxidase (Leinco Prod. No.: R1190), under either reducing or non-reducing conditions. The positive control for Western blotting is Jurkat Whole Cell Lysate (Leinco Prod. No.: J103).
