Specificity:
Rabbit Anti-Human DR5 recognizes an epitope near the C-terminus of mouse and human DR5. This polyclonal antibody was purified using affinity chromatography.
Background:
Apoptosis is induced by certain cytokines including TNF and Fas ligand in the TNF family through their death domain containing receptors. TRAIL/Apo2L is a new member of the TNF family. DR4 was recently identified as the receptor for TRAIL. A novel death domain containing receptor for TRAIL was more recently identified and designated DR5, Apo2, TRAIL-R2, TRICK2, or KILLER by several groups independently.1-4 Like DR4, DR5 transcript is widely expressed in normal tissues and in many types of tumor cells. DR5 binds to TRAIL and mediates TRAIL induced cell death. Overexpression of DR5 induces apoptosis and activates NF-κB.

Formulation
This polyclonal antibody is formulated in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) pH 7.4 containing 0.02% sodium azide as a preservative.
Storage and Stability
This polyclonal antibody is stable for at least one week when stored at 2-8°C. For long term storage, aliquot in working volumes without diluting and store at –20°C in a manual defrost freezer. Avoid Repeated Freeze Thaw Cycles.

Western Blotting: This antibody can be used to detect mouse and human DR5 by Western blot analysis at a dilution of 1:250-1:500 when used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, such as Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H&L)-Horseradish Peroxidase (Leinco Prod. No.: R1190), under either reducing or non-reducing conditions. The positive controls for Western blotting are K562 Whole Cell Lysate (Leinco Prod. No.: K128) or HeLa Whole Cell Lysate (Leinco Prod. No.: H1402).
