Description
Specificity:
Anti-Protein Kinase C (PKC) recognizes the intact (Mr 79-80 kDa) calcium-activated, phospholipid-dependent Protein Kinase C in bovine brain. The antibody strongly cross-reacts with PKC in human, mouse and rat cells.1 Anti-PKC (clone MC5) binds to an epitope at the hinge region of the enzyme, the site of phorbol-ester-induced proteolysis which is thought to down-regulate PKC activity in intact cells.1,2 Monoclonal MC5 reacts with PKC-α/ß1/ß2 isoforms.
Background:
Anti-Protein Kinase C (PKC) has been covalently conjugated to 4% cross-linked agarose using conjugation chemistries to reduce non-specific binding and optimize binding of Protein Kinase C. Anti-Protein Kinase C-Agarose may be used to isolate Protein Kinase C.
