Enhanced Sensitivity Technical Bulletin

1. Intended Use
For the enhanced detection of Microcystins in water samples using the ADDA ELISA Kit: groundwater,
surface water, well water.
2. Microcystins LR Standards Provided
0; 0.05; 0.1; 0.15; 0.40; 1.0; 2.0; 5.0 ppb. Control at 0.75 ppb.
3. Materials Required (Not Provided)
Pipettes capable of delivering 125 μL
Test tubes, glass
Vortex mixer
4. Procedure
-Add 125μL of standards, control, or samples to appropriate labeled glass test tubes.
-Add 125μL of antibody solution to each tube
-Vortex and incubate at room temperature for 30 minutes
-Add 100 uL of each standard, control or sample in duplicate to the wells in the microcystins coated plate
-Incubate mixture at room temperature for 90 minutes.
-Continue the assay by following steps 3-8 on the Microcystins ADDA ELISA Kit user’s guide.
5. Evaluation of Results
Results obtained should be calculated using the standard’s concentrations given in this technical bulletin
6. Assay Parameters
Analytical range: 0.05-5 ppb
Sensitivity: 0.04 ppb.
