Introduction:
MOG is a membrane protein expressed on the oligodendrocyte cell surface and the outermost surface of myelin sheaths. Due to this localization, it is a primary target antigen involved in immune-mediated demyelination. MOG is involved in completion and maintenance of the myelin sheath and in cell-cell communication. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified Minor component of the myelin sheath is involved in completion and/or maintenance of the myelin sheath and in cell- cell communication

Storage Procedures:
In lyophilized form, for long periods, store at 4oC in a dry environment. After reconstitution, if not intended for use within a month, aliquot and store at -20oC.

Reconstitution:
Reconstitute with H20. Mix gently, wash the sides of the vial and wait 30-60 seconds before use.

Stability / Shelf Life:
Two years lyophilized, one month in solution at 4oC.

Titer:
By direct ELISA, 1:10,000 dilution will yield 0.5 O.D using alkaline phosphatase conjugated rabbit anti-mouse Ig (Jackson Laboratories).

Applications:
Direct ELISA, Western Blot, Immuneprecipitation, immunohistochemistry.
