The product consists of affinity-purified mouse monoclonal antibodies against vitellogenin from sheepshead minnow (Cyprinodon variegatus). The antibody is dissolved in 0.1 M Na-phosphate, 0.15 M NaCl, 1% BSA, 12.3 mM Na-azide, pH 7.4

Immunogen source:
Purified vitellogenin from sheepshead minnow (Cyprinodon variegatus), bowfin (Amia calva), brown bullhead (Ameiurus nebulosus) and spotted gar (Lepisosteus oculatus)

Specificity:
ND-5C9 binds with high affinity to vitellogenin in plasma samples from sheepshead minnow (Cyprinodon variegatus). The antibody also cross-reacts with vitellogenin from halibut (Hippoglossus hippoglossus) and flounder (Platichthys flesus). The antibody does not cross react with vitellogenin from bowfin (Amia calva), brown bullhead (Ameiurus nebulosus) or spotted gar (Lepisosteus oculatus). The degree of cross-reactivity differs between species and with the methods employed.

Application:
ND-5C9 works well in ELISA, and can also be used in western blot. Since assay conditions vary, the optimum dilution should be determined for each particular application. Note: The antibody is dissolved in a buffer containing BSA, and is therefore not recommended to use for coating.

Normal dilution range:
ELISA: 1:100 - 1:1000
Western blot: 1:50 - 1:500
