This product consists of Protein-G affinity-purified polyclonal rabbit antibodies against vitellogenin from turbot (Scophthalmus maximus). The antibodies are dissolved in 0.1M Na-phosphate, 0.15M NaCl, 1% BSA, 0.1% Na-azide, pH 7.4.

Immunogen source:
Vitellogenin purified from plasma of 17ß-estradiol treated turbot.

Specificity: 
CS-2 binds to vitellogenin in plasma samples from turbot. The antibody crossreacts well with Vtg in plasma samples from flounder (Platichthys flesus), halibut (Hippoglossus hippoglossus), wrasse (Ctenolabrus rupestris), carp (Cyprinus carpio) and tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). The degree of cross-reactivity differs between species and with the different methods employed. 

Applications:
CS-2 is well suited for ELISA and immunoblotting for a number of species. Since assay conditions vary, the optimum dilution should be determined for each particular application. Note: The antibody is dissolved in a buffer containing BSA, and is therefore not recommended to use for coating.

Normal dilution range:
ELISA: 1:500 - 1: 5000
Western blot: 1:500 - 1:5000
