Polyclonal rabbit anti-sea bream vitellogenin

Contents:
This product consists of Protein-G affinity-purified polyclonal rabbit antibodies against vitellogenin from sea bream (Sparus aurata). The antibody is dissolved in 0.1M Na-phosphate, 0.15M NaCl, 1% BSA, 0.1% Na-azide, pH 7.4.

Immunogen source:
Vitellogenin purified from plasma of 17ß-estradiol treated sea bream.

Specificity:
PO-2 binds to vitellogenin in plasma samples from sea bream. The antibody cross-reacts well with Vtg in plasma samples from Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar), brown trout (Salmo trutta), rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss), turbot (Scophthalmus maximus), flounder (Platichthys flesus), Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua), wrasse (Ctenolabrus rupestris), tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) and carp ( Cyprinus carpio). The degree of cross-reactivity differ between species and with the different methods employed.

Applications:
PO-2 is well suited for ELISA and immunoblotting. Since assay conditions vary, the optimum dilution should be determined for each particular application. Note: The antibody is dissolved in a buffer containing BSA, and is therefore not recommended to use for coating.
